I wrote about my video game wish list for 2014 last week. One of my biggest wishes was for Nintendo to update the virtual console to include more games and to implement a regular cadence of releases. It appears that I may just get my wish as Nintendo has announced a lineup of games that will launch during the month of April 2014 on the WiiU virtual console.
The list is as follows:
April 3:
Advance Wars – $7.99 (GBA)
Metroid Fusion – $7.99 (GBA)
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga – $7.99 (GBA)
April 10:
Kirby & the Amazing Mirror – $6.99 (GBA)
Wario Ware, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! -$7.99 (GBA)
April 17:
Super Mario Bros. 3 – $4.99 (NES)
F-Zero Max Velocity – $6.99 (GBA)
Golden Sun – $7.99 (GBA)
April 24:
Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3 – $7.99 (GBA)
Note: All of these titles will include restore points so you can save your game and Miiverse functionality.
This is an amazing lineup of games. Nintendo chose some of the best first party Game Boy Advance titles to start with. (Heres hoping they follow it up with more!)
My highlights:
Metroid Fusion: Fans of the Metroid series have praised this title for years. This will be their first real chance to play it on a big screen.
Golden Sun: I am a sucker for a good role playing game (RPG) and Golden Sun is a great example. $7.99 is a steal for the chance to play it again.
Super Mario Bros. 3: This is a classic game that is in the discussion for being the best Mario game of all time. Pricing this at $4.99 makes this an absolute must buy for everyone who owns a WiiU.
What do you think? Which one of these games are you looking forward to the most? Sound off in the comments!
