Nintendo has announced that their 2DS handheld will receive a significant price drop at the end of August. The handheld will be bundled with Mario Kart 7 and will sell for an MSRP of $99.99. This is a $30 drop from its previous price. That is just about a 25% price reduction.
This is an amazing move for Nintendo as it puts the entry point to their 3DS line at $100 dollars just in time for a strong Holiday lineup that will include a Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes, and Yo-Kai Watch (which is likely to be a HUGE game with kids).
This price drop as well as its hinge-less form factor make this the perfect handheld for parents who want to give their younger children a handheld video game console, but don’t want to shell out $200 for an New 3DS XL.
Even better? If it turns out that their children decide that they want more as they get older, then Mom or Dad can get them a 3DS XL and then transfer the Mario Kart 7 over to it.
Will you be purchasing a 2DS for your anyone? (Yourself maybe?) Sound off in the comments!
