A Magical Fresh Start
Fabled marks the ninth core release in the Disney Lorcana trading card game and arrives with a clear mission: to welcome new players while still thrilling longtime fans.
With a tagline of “Welcome to the Story,” Fabled is intentionally designed as a jumping-on point. Of the 204 cards in the set, only 33 are mechanically unique, making this the most accessible release yet for new Illumineers.
Pre-release events begin August 29, 2025 and the set will release in stores on September 5, 2025.
The set also introduces a huge milestone: Set Rotation. With Fabled, older expansions will rotate out of the Core Constructed format, making this a natural reset point for collectors and competitors alike.
What does “Mechanically Unique” mean?
In trading card games, mechanically unique refers to cards that introduce new game mechanics — in other words, actions, effects, or abilities that have not appeared in prior sets.
Fabled includes 33 such cards. The rest of the set consists of reprints from earlier Lorcana expansions, which helps stabilize the game’s balance while easing the learning curve for new players.

Dumbo makes his Lorcana debut with Evasive abilities. (We’re gonna see an elephant fly!)

- Timothy Q. Mouse, Flight Instructor – Can you have Dumbo without his mouse friend? No. I dont think so.

A Goofy Movie Themed Cards
Music takes center stage with new cards inspired by A Goofy Movie:
- Powerline! The very first Ruby inked card with the Singer ability
- I 2 I – If they didn’t include this song as a card there would have been riots.
- Stand Out – another song from the movie that may be less iconic, but is still loved!
