Happy Pokemon Day! The Pokemon Company just wrapped up its February 2026 Pokemon Presents livestream, and it was a big one. With the franchise celebrating its 30th anniversary, there was plenty to celebrate and plenty for families to get excited about. Here are the five announcements that stood out most from today’s presentation.
Pokemon Generation 10 Revealed: Winds and Waves

The biggest news of the day came at the very end of the presentation, and it was worth the wait. The Pokemon Company officially revealed the next mainline Pokemon games, titled Pokemon Winds and Waves. The announcement trailer gave us our first real look at Generation 10, including a peek at new environments and, most excitingly, the three new starter Pokemon.
Players will be able to choose from Browt (Grass type), Gecqua (Water type), and Pombon (Fire Type). The games are confirmed as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, with a 2027 release window, so there is time to get hyped before your kids start making up their minds about which starter is objectively the best.

Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen Are Back on Switch

In a move that will thrill parents who grew up with the originals, Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen launched today for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. These Game Boy Advance classics from 2004 are now playable on modern hardware, essentially unchanged from how fans remember them.
The games will eventually receive support for the Pokemon Home transfer service, which means kids who play them will be able to move their Pokemon into newer titles down the road. If you have been looking for a way to share your childhood favorite with your kids, today is a good day.
Pokemon Pokopia Launches Next Week

The new life sim spinoff Pokemon Pokopia is almost here, launching on March 5. Today’s presentation showcased the game’s cooking, music, and town-building features, along with its multiplayer support for up to three friends.
This one looks like a solid family-friendly option for younger kids who love the Pokemon world but may not be ready for the deeper mechanics of the mainline games. We will have a full parent review once it launches.
Pokemon Champions Coming to Switch and Mobile in April

Pokemon Champions, the upcoming competitive spinoff, now has a firm release window. The game is set to launch on Nintendo Switch in April 2026, with a mobile version following later in the year.
Details on the game’s content and age-appropriateness are still coming in, so keep an eye on Engaged Family Gaming for a parent’s guide before the April launch.
Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness Coming to Nintendo Switch 2

GameCube fans, this one is for you. Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2’s GameCube Classics catalog in March, available through Nintendo Switch Online with the Expansion Pack membership.
This was a beloved entry from 2005 that many parents may remember fondly. It is a bit darker in tone than mainline Pokemon games, which we will note when we take a closer look ahead of its Switch 2 release.
Those were our picks for the five biggest moments from Pokemon Presents February 2026. It was a packed show with something for fans of every age. Which announcement has your family most excited?
